Who can Join?
Burnham Juniors provides football opportunities for boys and girls from age 5 to 16, with regular training sessions and games in Mini-Soccer and Junior Football leagues.
Mini-Soccer
The F.A. sees Mini-Soccer as the most appropriate and fun introduction to football. Essentially it means smaller pitches, smaller goals and seven players on each team. This means that all players get more touches on the ball and are therefore able to develop football skills more quickly. All players below school year 6 play Mini-Soccer.
Players in school years 1 to 3 attend regular training sessions, with friendly Mini-Soccer matches being arranged to give the older players some match experience.
Children in school years 4 & 5 play Mini-Soccer in the Somerset Mini League.
Junior Football
Once players reach school year 6 they progress to Junior Football, which is a full 11 a side game played under normal football rules. Burnham United teams play in the Woodspring Junior Football League.
